A poetry slam competition with open mic, music, quiz and more.
About this event
The Singapore Poetry Slam is serving hot and spicy poems on Sept 1. Whether writing about food, relationships, music, clothing, climate or regime change spicy words spoken with attitude are likely to be true because the tongue can’t hide when chilli sauce is on the table.
This month we are also glad to feature Dan Hartig, a New York City singer-songwriter who has recently made Singapore his home. If you take photographs and videos please hashtag us @ #poetryslamsg
SLAM AND OPEN MIC RULES: Slammers compete in up to 3 rounds – one poem per round of up to 3 minutes each. No music backing allowed during the slam. Slam Judges will be selected from the audience. Points deducted from 3:10min. Don’t have a hot and spicy poem handy? No problem. Present what you like.
