About this event
Express yourself with one or more original poems that include the word ‘chocolate’ or join the open mic and share your rich chocolatey moments. The two best poets on the night will win $50 and $25 respectively, slammers need 3 poems up to 3 minutes each, with no props or music allowed unless specified by the organiser. Slam Judges are selected from the audience. Slam points are deducted for going over time. As movie character Forrest Gump says: “Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.” Likewise, be ready to hear chocolate odes, dark chocoholic confessions, hot chocolate love poems and fruity anecdotes dipped in wit.
As well as cash prizes for slam participants, audience members stand to win a box of premium chocolates.
